I am a lecturer at the University College for Agricultural and Environmental Pedagogy in Vienna. My lessons and researches focus on nutrition and food technology, home economics, green pedagogy, subject didactics and school development. Since October 2016 I am the chair of the international Erasmus+ project “ProfESus” with the topic “Focus on Sustainability – Education for Professionals in Household and guest-oriented Businesses.” By working with our wonderful project team I get day by day new inspirations and ideas to improve my personal teaching processes. My teaching philosophy: Learning is an individual and active process! Sometimes we need manual action, sometimes we have to listen carefully or make discussions with others and sometimes we only need silence and time for personal mental conclusions. I live together with my family on an ecological farm in the southern part of Austria. We produce different kind of food in a very sustainable manner. So my sustainability tip is: Each person on this planet has 2000 square meter of arable land. Based on our personal choice of food and products and the way we live, we decide daily how this 2000 square meter area is managed. And also we decide every day in which way this area will be available for our children and grandchildren.
